One + One. Simple Math. Two very different people from very different backgrounds from opposite sides of the world. As of right now there are more than 7 billion people on the planet. The odds of finding the one person you were destined to spend the rest of your life with becomes much more complicated. a2 + b2 = c2 : A more complex math equation. Yet complex forces and a simple love story combined to bring Grace & Jacob together.
The day started as a day to go down in history. It was 11/11/11 which happens once in a century! The forecast called for rain and lots of it, but that didn’t stop anyone. The old tale is it’s good luck to rain on your wedding day. It rained on mine, although I kept thinking this is probably a joke someone made up so brides wouldn’t feel bad about it. Joined with good friends and close family, Grace & Jacob had all the right numbers for the much anticipated equation of marriage. One + One = One. A beautiful example of two becoming one united in marriage.
What’s with all the math? I don’t know! Actually, Grace is going to school and studying math… even their table names were variables (did I say that right? cause if not I will feel really dumb… actually I already feel really dumb). And since it’s Thanksgiving in 2 days…. What do you get if you divide the cirucmference of a jack-o-lantern by its diameter? ……… Pumpkin Pi! ahahahaha… and if you are wondering, yes, I feel dumb AND lame now!
Before I embarrass myself any further, here’s some pictures we wanted to share with you! I have been asked this recently a lot, so if you are wondering how I choose images for the blog, there isn’t really much of a science. I pick out my favorites from the day, usually the ones that initiated some type of response from me. A swoon, a smile, a laugh, an awwww or a wow! I try to compile a group of images that tells the story of their day in a summed up version for anyone visiting. It’s also a nice memory jogger for the Bride & Groom and the guests between the wedding and the time they get their proofs. Anyways, that’s how it goes… like I said, not scientific or “mathematical.” :)
Grace & Jacob, thank you so much for allowing Jason & I to come and document your day. I hope these images bring about sweet memories of how beautiful the day was! We had a blast with you two, your wedding party and your families!
Grace & Jacob were married at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Irvine.
Dana Dixon did a gorgeous job of all the girls’ hair and makeup!
Grace wore a beautiful Vera Wang gown!
Grace & her mom, Jiu :)
Jacob & Grace opted to do a First Look! I love when the bride and groom see each other before the wedding. In this particular case, it worked out perfectly as the weather was a bit moody so it maximized their time to get shots beforehand and get them out of the way so they could enjoy their evening and their guests. By the time their ceremony was done, it was pouring outside and they were incredibly pleased they didn’t have to brave the rain! We set up a spot on a private stairway next to a wall of windows for some beautiful natural light. Below are some of the pics from this moment. Jacob was just beaming the moment he saw Grace!
Then we headed outside to walk around and find some good light :)
The flowers were created by Melissa Mog of Creative Designs.
This area of Irvine provided for some seriously awesome lighting!
