Fate. For some it’s what they make for themselves. For others it’s a complex part of the universe, one part luck, two parts chance. When Jason found himself leading an apologetics study, fate walked in as a stunning blonde with a bubbly personality. Fate came equipped with a Gibson and a beautiful voice. And with a “Hello, I’m Brittany, I’m leading worship today…” Jason was smitten. You see, several years before that he had really turned his life around, he made a promise to devote himself to his relationship with God. The ladies would have to wait, that is… at least until “the one” came around. Little did he know that at the same time Brittany was at a purity conference. There she had prayed fervently for her future husband, that God would draw him close to Him. They prayed for each other long before they even knew either one existed, and they knew EXACTLY what to pray for and what each other needed. So while fate may mean something different to everyone, the day that Jason & Brittany met solidified the answer to realizing that fate comes meticulously handcrafted by God Himself without a detail left untouched.
What’s interesting about their story is that Brittany and I go all the way back to that same conference. I was leading worship and needed to put together a girl team. One of the youth leaders had introduced us and suggested that Brittany come alongside and sing with me as a part of the team. She was incredibly sweet and had such a beautiful heart. We had talked about a lot of things there, we even talked about our future husbands. And there we both prayed for them. Then if you recall the story of how I met Jay… I first saw him when he was a groomsman in his sister’s wedding. I leaned over to a friend and said, “Oooh, he’s cute. I bet he’s already married or has a girlfriend or something.” We both giggled confirming that was probably the case. Well that friend was Brittany :) And she was there with me the day I actually met Jay. So as you can see Brittany holds a very special place in my heart. So when those doors opened in the church and Brittany glided down the aisle escorted by her Dad… I was a big blubbering baby!
Brittany & Jason, THANK YOU from the bottom of our hearts for allowing us to be part of this incredibly special day! It was nothing short of unbelievably amazing. We are so blessed to call you friends and so excited that you are now part of the married club! We love you guys and hope you are enjoying your tropical getaway ;)
Brittany just so happens to be a very talented hair/makeup artist! She managed to do makeup on all 11 of her bridesmaids including herself! If you need a hair/makeup artist for anything hit her up!
Cutest moment ever! Brittany’s flower girls (her nieces) all sat around her to get makeup tips from Brittany.
Brittany wore a gorgeous Christina Wu gown with lots of details and lots of ruffles!
Everyone got ready at the Newport Balboa Bay Club. The guys kicked their feet up in the spa.
Then we headed off to the chapel!
Um, can we say fierce?
Holy gorgeous Brittany! You were stunning!!
We had a little fun at the Mariner’s Church in Irvine before the ceremony started :)
Our new thing this year is making sure our couples have 10 minutes alone right after the ceremony. It’s such an amazing moment, that in all the chaos of what happens next with family photos and then on to the reception, it gives the bride & groom a chance to have their “OH.MY.GOSH! We are MARRIED!!” moment :) The pictures below says it all, so much excitement and peace.
I just adore the way these two look at each other!
Lovely florals by Susy Crane of Bloom Artistry!
Then it was back to the Balboa Bay club for Brittany & Jason’s reception! And it was phenomenal!
The Jay Sterling Band provided the entertainment for the evening and they were UH-MAZING! Seriously, I was floored at how good they were! The dance floor was packed at all times, everyone had a blast!
Their cake was crafted by Susanne of Sweet Art :)
So the flash on my camera actually misfired on this shot, but I love what happened in this moment. Brittany & her Dad were filled with joy during their Father/Daughter dance, I love how our rim lights highlighted their expressions.
One of the sweetest Mother/Son dances I’ve ever witnessed :)
… Then a whole lotta dancing, and a whole lotta fun!
Also wanted to mention Kroh Media was there documenting the day with us! We cannot wait to see the video! And also a huge thanks to Trisha & Danielle of Because It’s Your Day for your stellar coordination!
