It was by chance they met. If by chance includes a sneaky cousin and best friend. And why not? Sam & Jenn could only think of pros rather than cons when it came to introducing Jessica & Greg. Double dating = More time together. But maybe what they didn’t realize was how like when Harry met Sally, Greg had met his match. Jessica bewitched him with her dynamite personality and her stunning classic beauty all packed into a tiny frame. It wasn’t long before he knew he wanted to spend the rest of his life with her.
Surrounded by friends, surrounded by family, surrounded by the comfort of your own home. Originally Jessica & Greg planned a Leo Carrillo Ranch Wedding in Carlsbad. Shortly after they decided that an intimate informal backyard wedding was in order. The affair was hosted by Jessica’s parents, Bill & June in their beautiful home in Carlsbad. They dolled up the backyard which rested against some nature paths which completed the perfect setting. Jessica & her mother June planned a DIY style wedding inspired by many of the wedding blogs we love! Green Wedding Shoes being one of them ;)
Because Jessica had originally imagined her gracing the Leo Carrillo Ranch in an ivory J.Crew wedding gown, we decided to do their First Look there. If you have never been to the ranch, you should go! They have gorgeous peacocks walking around everywhere, on top of it being a historical ranch with awesome old buildings and gorgeous light! A BIG thank you to Charles over at Leo Carrillo for permitting us to utilize the ranch to get the dreamy pictures Jessica was dying for!
Jessica & Greg, thank you for welcoming us into your lives and allowing us to document one of the most special days you will experience together! We were truly blessed by spending the day with you! We had some really good laughs and had a great time. We can’t wait to see what the future holds for you. And Greg, you may want to consider male modeling. You totally have your magazine face down. :)
Beautiful hair and makeup done by the lovely Angelina Dawson.
June, Jessica’s mom, made peanut brittle for favors. SO GOOD!
Jessica didn’t have bridesmaids, but she had a handful of the bestest friends. I called them bridesfairies. Somehow I wondered if they coordinated their outfits so it appeared they were bridesmaids?
When Jessica first saw Greg :) I love it when couples opt in to doing a First Look. It makes for such a smooth and seamless day.
Greg was absolutely smitten by Jessica…. I mean who wouldn’t be?
There it is Greg, there it is.
Oh wait, this might actually be it. (sorry I couldn’t help myself) Look how whimsical Jessica is in her J.Crew dress. Augh. Luuuuuv it!
Jay had a sweet angle of the above shot I got.
You are absolutely STUNNING Jessica!
My favorite series of images. I was drooling over this light. Seriously, I think Jessica’s friend Jenn actually saw me drooling.
I said it then, and I’ll say it now, Jess, this light was MADE FOR YOU.
Can I double RAWR?
I love this one so much.
See what I mean, Peacocks!
After Leo Carrillo Ranch we headed back to Jessica’s parents for the ceremony.
Greg’s little nephew… I just wanted to pinch those cheeks!
One of Jessica’s grandmas. She was a hoot!
dangit, triple RAWR
Ok, so here’s to the fake bridesmaids and groomsmen!
I had to feature some food shots because folks, this is my FAVORITE wedding food when Dennis Doyle is catering. It’s seriously the best. My mouth is watering thinking about those cream cheese deep fried things that make me gain 10 lbs by the time the wedding is over.
And just for fun we set up a little photobooth for Jess & Greg. I thought this photo was really funny so I wanted to post it :)
A big huge shoutout to Erin Berenda for coordinating their wedding! Erin does a flawless job, I always love working with her! To June… Mama, you done good! Not only did you plan a beautiful wedding and were an excellent hostess, you were incredibly sweet and helpful and I couldn’t ask for a better Mother-of-the-Bride :)
